www.aarp.org/families - AARP website includes free searchable databases for nursing homes, assisted living homes and hospices; articles on all aspects of aging and caregiving; features reading lists, checklists and links to organizations.
www.AgeGuide.org – Northeastern Illinois Area Agency on Aging website with information for both caregivers and care recipients: includes information on local resources in northeastern Illinois for the National Family Caregiver Support Program, links to state and national resources.
www.alz.org/we_can_help_caresource.asp - Website of the Alzheimer’s Association. They have created a wonderful tool to help family caregivers. Once at the Care Source page click on Lotsa Helping Hands to navigate to the page where you can set up a personal community. It can include friends, neighbors and family and help members stay connected to organize the care of their loved one.
www.medicare.gov – User-friendly site for Medicare information. You will find many links to compare health plans, Medigap supplemental insurance plans, Medicare Part D prescription drug plans. You can also get information on nursing homes, hospitals, and dialysis facilities.
